Today at lunch I gave my children and their friends a puzzle. I put 3 seeds from 3 different fruits on a sheet of paper and labled them 1, 2 and 3. I asked the children to identify the fruits...
We had an avocado, an apple and an apricot seed.
Which ones do you think they got right?
P.S. All of the fuits were on our lunch table as part of our meal.

I'm hoping they got them all right. It wasn't a hard assignment.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't hard for us, we're grown ups but it generated a great discussion with 7 - 13 year olds...
ReplyDeleteHey you are teaching them by puzzles
ReplyDeleteneat!
ReplyDeleteMy children participate in the preparation of so much of our food. They're super interested in being part of the process and those are all fruits that we regularly have in our home...
for this reason I'm guessing that my kids would recognize each other of them. I think it would be interesting for you to slice them open and allow them to see the differences too.
Great exercise! The sizes don't match with the sizes of the fruits. I'm curious to see how they did. Of course, if they are preparing their own fruit to eat they should have noticed!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing they couldn't identify the fuit?
ReplyDeleteI hope they didn't get it because I surely have no idea!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I work with kids and will use it in my classroom. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI would have got the apple seed right.
